- What is your favorite sport? Football
- Did you play professional or collegiate, both? Both
- What do you aim to gain from sports? Transferable life skills. For example, accountability, responsibility, teamwork, hard work.
- Which academic areas do you excel in? Where can you improve? I was a sociology major. My strengths were in writing papers that I could thoroughly express my views. My math skills have always been an issue for me.
- What were your career goals prior to entering college? My career goals were solely to play in the NFL. Unfortunately, at that time, I solely focused on making the NFL and any other career aspiration took a back seat.
- Did college prepare you to meet these goals?(Y/N). If so how? If not, what was missing? I would saying that going to Clemson did prepare me for my goal to make the NFL. I believe Clemson also prepared me for life after football. We had career days just for the football team and had a program dedicated to job placement after playing football.
- What has been the greatest challenge you’ve faced being a part of a team? The hardest part is taking guys from all walks of life and getting them to believe in a single purpose. Having everyone buy into a winning culture. There can be a lot of egos when you’re dealing with people that are highly competitive.
- Do you consider our organization impactful? Yes, I don’t believe enough kids have the resources, mentorship, and guidance to navigate the transitions of high school to college to the pros/“real world”. Having a positive organization in support of your every move, can only be beneficial to a young athlete. Coastal Elites is going to help kids maximize their college experience to set them up for success in whatever field they enter.
